A receding hairline in adolescents does not usually recover on its own and can usually be improved with regular dermatologic treatment for a high hairline. The presence of a receding hairline indicates that the hair follicles in the forehead have produced a large number of follicular corns, blocked follicular openings or atrophy. Some people have a high hairline due to congenital causes and lack of hair follicles in the forehead. Although normal hair follicles have the function of self-repair, hair follicles that have died in the forehead cannot normally be repaired by themselves unless they are activated and re-grown with the help of medication or other treatments. Alternatively, hair transplants can be performed to restore the hairline by implanting new hair follicles at the forehead hairline. Patients should be careful not to use hair dryers at too high a temperature. If your hair is fine and oily, you can choose a shampoo that does not contain silicone oil. Eat a moderate amount of hair nourishing foods, such as black sesame and black rice, and get enough sleep to avoid late nights and alcohol abuse.
