Rattling of the bite joints may be associated with temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJD). Temporomandibular joint disorder is a general term for a group of diseases whose etiology is not yet fully understood and which have the same or similar clinical symptoms. Its clinical manifestations mainly include abnormal jaw movement, pain, popping and murmur. 1. Abnormal jaw movement: including abnormal opening degree (too big or too small); abnormal opening type (skewed or crooked); joint strangulation in opening and closing movement. 2. Pain: mainly manifested as pain in the joint area or periarticular muscle groups during opening and masticatory movements. There is usually no spontaneous pain. 3. Popping and murmur: normal joints have no obvious popping and murmur during jaw movement. Common abnormal sounds in this disease are: popping sound, broken sound, friction sound. When the occlusal joints have rattling sound, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital as soon as possible, through the professional doctor’s examination and diagnosis, symptomatic treatment, to avoid delaying the condition.
