The Waigu point belongs to the foot Shaoyang bile meridian and is located on the outer side of the lower leg, 7 inches above the tip of the outer ankle and the anterior edge of the fibula. This point has the efficacy of dredging the liver and regulating qi, clearing collaterals and relieving pain, and is used for the treatment of epilepsy, chest and hypochondrium distension and fullness, impotence and paralysis of the lower limbs (lower limb weakness or numbness and pain), and stiffness and pain in the neck and neck.
Clinical combinations of this point include: with diaphragm Yu point, liver Yu point, Sanyangluo point, Yanglingquan point for the treatment of chest distension; with Benshen point, Baihui point, Taichong point, Dazhong loom point, Qubiao point, Shakuzawa point, Yangxi point for the treatment of epilepsy; and with Fengchi, Fengmen, Shoujie point, Houxi point for the treatment of neck stiffness and pain.
