The effects and contraindications of yin chen jujube

Yin Chen is bitter, pungent and slightly cold, and belongs to the spleen, stomach, liver and gallbladder meridians. It has the effect of clearing dampness and heat, relieving bile and jaundice (clearing evil Qi from the biliary tract and eliminating jaundice). It is used in the treatment of jaundice with low urine output, dampness and warmth (warmth caused by feeling dampness and heat), summer dampness, and itching of wet sores. Jujube is sweet, warm, and belongs to the spleen, stomach and heart meridians. It is effective in tonifying the middle Jiao (treating deficiency of Qi by nourishing the spleen), nourishing the Blood and calming the mind (stabilizing the mind and soothing the emotions by nourishing the Blood). It is used in treating deficiency of the spleen with little food, weakness and loose stools (scanty and unformed feces), and dirty agitation in women (upset and depression, sadness and wanting to cry for no reason). Yin Chen is cold in nature, and should not be taken by people with weak spleen and stomach and diarrhea symptoms, and should be used with caution by people with yellowish blood storage and blood deficiency. Jujube is sweet in flavor and should not be taken too much for obesity. The use of drugs should be under the guidance of a doctor.
