The normal range of ALT is 0~37U/L, and the normal range of AST is 0~40U/L. Clinically, the normal value of ALT/AST ratio is 0.8~1.5.
If the results of ALT and AST are within the normal range, but the ratio is low, it has no clinical significance and is mostly normal.
If the numerical results of ALT and AST at the time of examination exceed the normal value range, but the ratio is low, it mostly indicates that there is abnormal liver function, which may be due to acute hepatitis, chronic viral hepatitis and other reasons.
