C14 H. pylori is a method of checking for H. pylori, which is clarified by blowing. H. pylori is a bacterium that lives in the gastric sinus, at the pylorus, and damages the gastric mucosa. This bacterium can cause gastritis, gastric erosion, peptic ulcer and even gastric cancer. When a patient is found to have the above disease, the first step in treatment is to clarify whether there is this bacterial infection, and the method to determine the presence of this bacterial infection is mainly through the blowing test, i.e. carbon 14 breath test. This test is performed by swallowing a capsule in the morning on an empty stomach and blowing a breath at 15-minute intervals. If the blown breath contains carbon dioxide with a carbon 14 marker, it indicates the presence of H. pylori infection in the stomach, and the result is positive, then it needs to be treated with quadruple therapy or triple therapy. This test is a guide for the prognosis and treatment of the disease.
