Keep the puncture area dry and clean: no bathing is allowed within two days after the bone marrow puncture, and sterile dressings should be changed diligently to keep the wound dry and clean to prevent infection. Because water or exposure of the wound may cause infection and affect the wound healing, so try to avoid touching the wound with water.
Also, complications such as bleeding, hematoma, and infection may occur after bone marrow aspiration, and you should contact your doctor if they do. After the puncture, you should follow the doctor’s instructions and cooperate with your healthcare provider for good surgical care to avoid complications caused by improper care.
