CT of the adrenal glands is a CT imaging technique that is performed on a pair of very small organs, the adrenal glands, through CT technology. It requires patients to fast for more than four hours before the CT and to inject intravenous contrast agent, which is commonly used in clinical practice, and the enhancement agent is iodine, which is prohibited for patients who are allergic to iodine. Enhanced CT of the adrenal glands is often used for patients with suspected adrenal tumor hyperplasia or other adrenal-related diseases. CT of the adrenal glands is usually a thin layer scan that can accurately visualize the presence or absence of occupancies in the smaller adrenal glands, and in addition, MRI of the adrenal glands can also assist in identifying the presence or absence of disease in the adrenal glands.
