How long it usually takes for a deep wound to heal

Wound healing is related to the location of the wound, the blood supply of the wound and the depth of the wound. However, if the wound is deep, it needs to be sutured, and after suturing, come to the outpatient clinic every two days to change the medicine, and observe whether there is any redness, swelling, hardness and infection in the wound. If there is no infection, the head wound will heal in 4-5 days. Wounds in the upper abdomen will heal in 7-9 days, in the lower abdomen in 6-7 days, and in the extremities in 10-12 days. If the wound is deep, has fluid inside, or is infected, a few sutures should be removed early to facilitate drainage and dressing changes. At a later stage, when the drainage fluid is reduced, the wound can slowly heal on its own, but it takes a relatively long time.
