Chen Pi is used to regulate qi, strengthen the spleen, dry dampness and resolve phlegm (expelling dampness and resolving phlegm by drying dampness), and has the effect of treating stagnation of qi in the spleen and stomach, vomiting, and damp phlegm and cold phlegm.
Chenpi, as a traditional Chinese medicine, is medicinally derived from the dried mature fruit rind of orange and its cultivated varieties in the family of Rutaceae, with a bitter, pungent taste and warm nature, and has the function of regulating qi and strengthening the spleen, drying dampness and resolving phlegm, and can be decocted and consumed.
It can be used to treat or improve the symptoms of stagnation of qi in the spleen and stomach, dampness obstruction in the epigastrium (abdomen), vomiting, eructation (hiccup), damp phlegm and cold phlegm, coughing and phlegm, and thoracic paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest).
It is worth noting that Chenpi is pungent, bitter and dry, and its warmth can help heat, so those with solid internal heat and a red tongue with little fluid should be cautious of using Chenpi in order to avoid aggravation of the condition.
In addition, in order to avoid improper use of medication, the use of Chinese herbs should be under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner to identify the symptoms.
