Can enteroscopy determine neuroendocrine tumors?

Enteroscopy needs to be combined with pathological examination to determine whether it is a neuroendocrine tumor.
Neuroendocrine tumors are classified into functional and non-functional according to the presence or absence of hormone secretion function and hormone-related clinical manifestations, and there are benign and malignant possibilities, and those who are detected should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time.
Enteroscopy can visualize part of the bulging lesions in the intestine, but cannot determine their type and nature; while pathological examination is the gold standard for diagnosis. In the process of enteroscopy, biopsy of bulging lesions of unknown nature needs to be taken and sent to pathology, and then according to the results to determine whether they belong to neuroendocrine tumors.
In addition, ultrasound, CT, nuclear magnetic examination can also suggest the existence of neuroendocrine tumor to a certain extent.
