Cuttlebone has the efficacy of consolidating semen and urine (consolidating semen and urine to prevent random leakage), tonifying the kidney and helping the yang. It is used to treat conditions such as spermatorrhea and slippery semen, and leucorrhea (cloudy urine like white slurry).

The adverse effects of Cuttlebone are not known. It is forbidden to combine it with Cynanchum officinale. It should be taken with caution in cases of yin deficiency (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, resulting in hyperactivity of deficiency fire) or dampness and heat in the bladder.
