Heart failure due to multiple myeloma is generally treated with both medications and surgery. There are generally two common causes of heart failure due to multiple myeloma, one is heart failure due to anemia and the other is heart failure due to amyloidosis of the heart caused by multiple myeloma. Different causes can be treated in different ways, which are categorized into drug treatment and surgical treatment. 1. Heart failure caused by anemia: Anemia can lead to myocardial ischemia and thus cause heart failure, which can be treated with medication such as metoprolol tartrate. If the condition is serious, surgical treatment can be chosen, such as interventional therapy or coronary stent implantation. 2. Heart failure caused by amyloidosis: it can be treated with cardiotonic and diuretic drugs to improve myocardial metabolism, such as digitalis, etc. However, these drugs may combine with amyloid fibrous components to produce digitalis toxicity, so the use of these drugs should be closely observed. In severe cases, surgical intervention, such as transplantation, may be required. The treatment of heart failure should be accompanied by aggressive treatment of multiple myeloma, with specialty drugs including bortezomib and lenalidomide. In the event of heart failure caused by multiple myeloma, the patient should be seen by a doctor to identify the cause and provide targeted treatment. The above medications should be used under medical supervision.
