Is Gui Fu Di Huang Wan effective in regulating spleen yang deficiency?

Gui Fu Di Huang Wan is indicated for kidney yang deficiency and is generally not used to regulate spleen yang deficiency. Gui Fu Di Huang Wan is composed of cinnamon, epimedium, ripened rhizome, wine cornelian cherry, and peony dandan skin, which can warm and tonify kidney yang. It is used for kidney yang deficiency, soreness and coldness of the waist and knees, dysuria (unsmooth urination) or regurgitation, phlegm (pathological product formed by impaired metabolism of water and fluid) and wheezing and coughing. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this drug are not clear. Spleen-Yang deficiency can be seen as abdominal pain, preferring warmth and pressure, loose stools or undigested food, or swelling, dysuria, or women with scanty and profuse diarrhea, lack of warmth in the limbs, and fear of cold. Patients can take medicines such as Lizhong Pill, Xiao Jianzhong Tang, and Radix Rehmanniae Pill under doctor’s guidance for treatment. It is recommended that patients take medication under the guidance of a doctor for treatment.
