Can drinking tea reduce edema?

Drinking tea is effective in relieving the symptoms of edema, but it cannot cure edema at its root, which can be treated by taking Wu Ling San and Jisheng Kidney Qi Pills.
Edema usually occurs in the head, face, eyelids, limbs, abdomen and back, and can be initiated from the head and face, or from the lower limbs, and even the whole body may be swollen.
Wu Ling San has the efficacy of warming yang and transforming qi (warming yang qi in the body), inducing dampness and promoting the movement of water, and is commonly used in the treatment of edema caused by yang not transforming qi (the body’s qi is blocked), and water-dampness internal stagnation (water-dampness stays in the body), with symptoms such as difficulty in urinating, edema of the limbs, abdominal distension, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. It is not recommended for patients with dampness-heat. It is contraindicated in patients with dampness-heat.
Jisheng Kidney Qi Pill has the effect of warming the kidney and transforming qi, inducing diuresis and eliminating edema. It is commonly used in the treatment of edema of limbs, soreness and heaviness of the waist and knees, difficulty in urination, asthma, cough, etc., which are caused by insufficient kidney yang and the internal retention of water-dampness. During the period of taking the medicine, it is advisable to take a light diet and avoid smoking and alcohol.
It is recommended that patients in need of standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor’s diagnosis, do not take medication without authorization, in order to avoid adverse consequences.
