Edible baking soda can be used to wash the vulva. It is prepared at a ratio of 5%, which means that 5g of baking soda can be added to 100mL of water. It is used clinically for vulvovaginal pseudomonal yeast disease caused by Candida albicans infection. The main purpose of douching is to change the pH level of the vagina, so that the internal environment of the vagina becomes alkaline, which inhibits the growth of Candida, and thus aids in the treatment. After douching, it is recommended to insert other suppositories or tablets into the vagina, such as terbinafine vaginal tablets or clotrimazole suppositories, which can kill the mold and provide a complete cure in clinical practice, and it is also recommended to keep the vulva clean during the medication period.
