The differences between gallbladder cancer and bile duct cancer mainly include different sites of development, different causes of disease and different clinical manifestations. 1. Different sites of onset: gallbladder is an organ located under the liver, so gallbladder cancer occurs in the gallbladder site; while bile duct is a pipe that transports bile, so cholangiocarcinoma refers to malignant tumors occurring in intra-hepatic and extra-hepatic bile ducts. 2. Different etiology: the etiology of gallbladder cancer is still unclear, which may be related to genetic factors, bile acid metabolism abnormality and infections; while the development of bile duct cancer may be related to cystic dilatation of bile ducts, cholelithiasis and so on. 3. Different clinical manifestations: gallbladder cancer may manifest pain, indigestion, fever, masses and other symptoms, and the incidence of jaundice is low and late; while cholangiocarcinoma has a high incidence of jaundice, which may manifest painless and progressively aggravating jaundice, and some of them may manifest itchiness and weight loss and so on. When gallbladder cancer or bile duct cancer occurs, one should consult doctor in time and standardize treatment under doctor’s guidance.
