Three-month-old babies drooling all the time may be a normal physiological phenomenon, or it may be caused by thrush, cerebral palsy and other pathological causes.
1. Normal physiological phenomenon: As the salivary glands of three-month-old babies begin to develop gradually, the amount of saliva secretion is relatively large, but the baby’s oral cavity capacity is relatively small, the floor of the mouth is shallow, the swallowing function is immature, which may cause frequent drooling, and if no other discomforts occur, it is a normal physiological phenomenon, no need to intervene in the treatment.
2. Thrush: Thrush is a disease caused by Candida albicans infection that forms a white film on the surface of the oral mucosa, most common in newborns and infants, mainly manifested as localized mucous membrane redness, roughness, accompanied by symptoms of pain, pediatric patients may be irritable, crying, refusing to eat, drooling and other manifestations.
3. Cerebral palsy: Cerebral palsy is a group of persistent central motor and postural developmental disorders and activity limitation syndromes, mainly manifested by backward motor development, abnormal muscle tone, abnormal reflex development, etc. Some children may have symptoms such as drooling and delayed reaction.
Parents are advised to bring their children to the doctor in time for examination, and carry out targeted treatment after clarifying the cause of the disease, paying attention to strengthening nutrition, maintaining oral hygiene, and following the doctor’s instructions for regular checkups.
