Bowel sounds are low in sound and usually require the aid of a stethoscope for auscultation, with the right lower abdomen usually chosen as the location of auscultation.
Bowel sounds refers to when the intestinal tube peristalsis, peristalsis in the intestinal tract of the gas and liquid flow with the sound of gas over water, bowel sounds 4~5 times per minute regular appearance, due to the bowel sounds sound lower, need to use a stethoscope to auscultation, the whole abdomen can be heard, but the auscultation site is usually chosen right lower abdomen, need to be in a fixed part of the auscultation for at least one minute.
Bowel sounds are usually frequent and obvious after meals, and weakened at rest, if bowel sounds 6~10 times per minute means active bowel sounds, if bowel sounds more than 10 times per minute means hyperactive bowel sounds, if bowel sounds are heard once every 3~5 minutes means weakened bowel sounds, if no bowel sounds are heard for 3~5 minutes or if no bowel sounds can be heard even if you gently clasp the abdomen with your hand, the bowel sounds are generally known as disappearance of the bowel sounds.
If the bowel sounds are abnormal, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the condition and causing other damages.
