Dangzhi Shanzha soaking water to drink has certain clearing the heart to remove annoyance, activate blood circulation to eliminate blood stasis, eliminating food and stomach, resolving turbidity and lowering fat (cleaning the body of foul substances and reducing excess body fat), cooling blood to eliminate carbuncles (eliminating carbuncles by cooling the blood) efficacy. However, the active ingredients of the drug in water are limited and cannot replace the medication.
1. Salvia miltiorrhiza is effective in cooling the blood to eliminate carbuncles, clearing menstruation and relieving pain, clearing the heart and removing vexation, and promoting blood circulation to eliminate blood stasis. It is mainly used in treating menstrual disorders due to blood stasis and obstruction; bruises and injuries, epigastric and abdominal pain (pain in the area of the stomach and abdomen); and carbuncles and pains. It is not suitable to be used in conjunction with Veratrum.
2. Hawthorn is effective in resolving turbidity and lowering fat, promoting circulation of Qi and dispersing blood stasis, eliminating food and strengthening the stomach, and is mainly used in treating hernia pain, stagnation of meat and food, and stabbing pain in the heart and abdomen. It is not suitable for patients with excessive gastric acid secretion, weak spleen and stomach without stagnation.
