Glucose Electrolyte Effervescent Tablets are used for the prevention and treatment of mild to moderate symptoms of water loss due to diarrhea and vomiting, as well as for the treatment of symptoms of dehydration due to prolonged strenuous exercise. It is used as maintenance therapy after corrective treatment with intravenous rehydration in cases of severe dehydration to maintain water and electrolyte balance in the body. The use of glucose electrolyte effervescent tablets may have gastrointestinal adverse reactions, such as nausea and irritation, mostly caused by failure to dissolve the product as prescribed, due to excessive concentration. Glucose electrolyte effervescent tablets are contraindicated in patients with renal insufficiency, especially in anuria, in patients with impaired absorption of glucose (monosaccharide absorption disorder), loss of consciousness, shock, persistent vomiting or high concentration of essential elements in the blood (metabolic alkalosis), as well as in patients with intestinal obstruction requiring surgical treatment.
