Peritoneal dialysis several times a week

Peritoneal dialysis can be done 21 to 35 times a week. Peritoneal dialysis usually needs to be performed daily, 3 to 5 times a day. Peritoneal dialysis is primarily a type of dialysis in which the individual’s peritoneum is used as a dialysis membrane. This type of dialysis can be performed daily at home and its main purpose is to remove waste or excess fluid from the blood. Regular peritoneal dialysis can improve the quality of life of uremic patients to some extent. Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis is mostly used clinically, with a dose of 6-10 L per day, 3-4 exchanges during the daytime with 4-6 hours of abdominal retention, and 1 exchange at night with 10-12 hours of abdominal retention. Prescriptions need to be individualized to achieve optimal solute clearance and fluid balance and to preserve residual renal function as much as possible. Patients on peritoneal dialysis are advised to visit regular hospitals in time and standardize their treatment under the guidance of doctors.
