Effects and Indications of Ampelopsis

As a traditional Chinese medicine, the efficacy of Ampelopsis is to clear away heat and dampness, detoxify and reduce swelling. It is mainly used for treating carbuncles, sores, mumps, dysentery and other diseases. Ampelopsis is the dried herb of Ampelopsis japonica, family Vitis vinifera, which is bitter, sour and cold in nature, and belongs to the heart, liver and stomach meridians. Ampelopsis has the effect of clearing away heat and removing dampness, detoxification and swelling. It is mainly used for the treatment of carbuncles, sores, mumps, dengue, rheumatic pain, jaundice, dysentery, blood in urine, and leucorrhea (cloudy urine like white pulp).
