Cell phone “sleeping with” is a risk factor for malignant brain tumors!

Most people know that a long time to look at the cell phone is not good for the eyes, there may be early cataract symptoms; look down at the phone will also make your cervical vertebrae change curvature, suffering from cervical spondylosis; and cell phone radiation is not good for the skin and so on. But today I want to tell you, cell phone “sleep with” is a potential risk factor for malignant brain tumors! 1, the relationship between brain tumors and cell phones Like most cancers, the cause of glioma is still unclear, and the prevailing view is that the genetic variation of individual cells in the human body is the source factor leading to the development of glioma. Factors such as the environment, food, emotions, and infections can all lead to cell mutations, and the only certain factor is X-ray radiation. This leads to a topic of public concern, will the extremely high frequency of cell phone use by modern people lead to the occurrence of brain glioma? The incidence of brain tumors in Shanghai has continued to increase over the past 30 years, which coincides with a period of cell phone penetration spurt in Shanghai. Our hospital has summarized and analyzed the international papers on the relationship between cell phone use and brain tumor incidence, and found that: (1) ipsilateral and prolonged cell phone use is closely related to the risk of gliomas; (2) the incidence of low-grade gliomas is significantly higher in people who use cell phones for a long period of time; (3) 20-29 years old is the high-incidence group of gliomas, and the results are consistent with the “Radiofrequency Electromagnetism (RFEM)” concept advocated by the IARC, which is the most effective way to reduce the incidence of gliomas in Shanghai. This result coincides with the “definition of radiofrequency electromagnetic field as a possible human carcinogen” advocated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). International studies on the relationship between cell phone use and brain tumors A number of international organizations have conducted epidemiological studies on the relationship between cell phone use and brain tumors, among which there are two projects with the most complete data. (1) The INTERPHONE project of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC): This study found that the highest level of heavy cell phone users (30 minutes/day for 10 years) had an increased risk of gliomas, but lower exposures did not increase the risk of the disease. Unfortunately, other studies could not replicate this result. (2) The research project of Hardell Research Group: This study focused on a controlled study of cases in different age groups (20-80 years old), and found that there is a positive relationship between brain tumors and cell phone use, with the greatest relative risk in the 20-29 year old group. 3.The incidence of children’s brain tumor has been increasing in recent years, and the seven signals of children’s brain tumor are alerted. At present, children’s brain tumor has become the second largest tumor in children only after leukemia. Since the ears and skulls of teenagers are thinner and smaller than those of adults, the radiation absorbed by their brains when using cell phones is more than 50% higher than that of adults. The longer you use your cell phone, the more you increase your risk of developing a brain tumor. Be alert to the seven signals of brain tumors in children: (1) Headache without obvious triggers Brain tumors can cause increased intracranial pressure and lead to headache, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting, which can be persistent or intermittent episodes. If the headache persists and no other cause can be found, it is recommended to screen for brain tumors. (2) Enlargement of the head Children with brain tumors are prone to hydrocephalus, resulting in an enlarged head and non-closure of the fontanel. If parents find that their children’s heads are significantly larger than other children of the same age, they should be alerted. (3) Unsteady walking The child has long passed the age of learning to walk, but walks crookedly, some parents just think that their children learn to walk later than other children, and some think that it is a problem of brain development, in fact, this is also one of the symptoms of brain tumors. (4) Developmental abnormalities Some children start to grow pubic hair at a young age, the penis is significantly larger than children of the same age, and the premature development of the girl’s breasts is a symptom of precocious puberty. Because some brain tumors can cause changes in the pituitary gland and hypothalamus, resulting in hormone secretion disorders, which leads to precocious puberty. (5) Loss of vision If the child’s vision decreases inexplicably within a short period of time, it may be caused by brain tumor compressing the optic nerve. (6) Epilepsy If a child has febrile convulsions and epileptic seizures for no reason, it may be a signal of brain tumor. (7) Drinking and urinating Urinary dysuria is also a common symptom of some brain tumors, which should be taken seriously. Brain tumor is an abbreviation of intracranial tumor, which often causes neurological dysfunction and can be life-threatening in serious cases. Brain tumors and other parts of the body of the same tumor disease, also divided into benign tumors and malignant tumors, meningiomas and pituitary tumors are higher incidence of benign brain tumors. Meningiomas and pituitary tumors are benign tumors of the brain with high incidence. What people usually call “brain cancer” refers to malignant tumors of the brain, and glioma is the most common type of brain cancer. Benign brain tumors are more “gentle” and grow slowly, and can be cured by surgery with low recurrence rate; malignant brain tumors are more “brutal” in nature. Malignant tumors of the brain are more “brutal” and usually require surgical resection with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which is difficult to cure.
