How long does the tubal imaging process usually take?

The procedure of tubalography usually takes about 15-30 minutes in total.

Before the tubal imaging, some preparations will be needed, such as the woman needs to lie on the fluoroscopy table, follow the doctor’s instructions to choose the appropriate position, also need to disinfect the vagina and vulva, these pre-test measures may take about 10-20 minutes, and the doctor’s proficiency is also very much related.

There are two types of tubal imaging, one is ultrasound-guided tubal imaging and the other is tubal iodine-oil imaging with X-ray filming. The former has no radiation and is monitored by ultrasound, while the latter is imaging under radiation and the dispersion of the contrast agent is observed by radiation.

The process of both operations are similar, the steps are vulva, vagina, cervix disinfection, from the cervix into the uterine cavity to place a through the tube, the balloon to hit the water 2mL, block the cervical canal, and then injected into the contrast medium, to see the contrast medium into the uterus and both sides of the fallopian tubes, about 5-10 minutes will be done.

After the operation, you need to pay attention to abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding, and prohibit sexual intercourse for about 2 weeks.
