Treatment options for apnea-sleep apnea syndrome

Apnea-sleep apnea syndrome is mainly characterized by sleep snoring with apnea and daytime sleepiness, fatigue, memory loss and so on. Different treatments, such as general treatment, etiologic treatment, continuous positive pressure ventilation treatment, surgical treatment and so on, need to be chosen according to the main causes, conditions and systemic conditions of patients.
1. General treatment: e.g. weight loss, alcohol cessation, establishment of side-lying sleep habit, etc.
2. Etiologic treatment: such as rhinosinusitis, allergic rhinitis, etc., nasal spray hormone can be used. If combined with hypertension, stroke, diabetes, etc., should also be actively treated.
3. Continuous positive pressure ventilation: it is one of the more widely used and effective methods to ensure the patient’s airway is open during sleep through certain pressure of mechanical ventilation.
4. Surgery: it is suitable for patients with abnormal upper airway anatomy that can be relieved by surgery, and the indications for surgery should be strictly controlled. Surgery is usually not the initial treatment for sleep apnea syndrome.
If you have the above symptoms, it is recommended that you go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for diagnosis and treatment.
