What are the contraindications to tuberculosis treatment

Tuberculosis is called tuberculosis in Western medicine and consumption in Chinese medicine among the five types of consumption. As early as in Ming, “Medical Zhengzhuan of Consumption”, it was proposed that “one is to kill the insects to eliminate the root, and the other is to nourish the deficiency to restore its true essence”. Therefore, the principles of treatment are: (1) replenish the deficiency and cultivate the vital energy of the lungs, so the main focus should be to replenish the lung energy and benefit the lung yin, and the long-standing disease involves the spleen and kidney, so it is appropriate to cultivate the vital energy. Commonly used Chinese herbal medicine is mainly Astragalus, which can nourish the blood, with a mild odor, and can be used in large quantities, and has the effect of generating muscle. In case of blood in sputum or vomiting blood, Panax ginseng is used because it can both activate blood and remove blood stasis and stop bleeding. It is good for treating lung diseases. Radix Salviae Sinensis has the function of clearing lung fire and benefiting lung yin, and can eliminate swelling and drain pus, which is indispensable for treating lung diseases. Glycyrrhiza glabra is sweet, bitter, and astringent, with a small toxicity, and can astringently stop coughing in the lung. Common contraindications to clinical treatment in TCM are as follows: First, avoid not checking the main symptoms of pulmonary consumption, which is usually the basis for its clinical diagnosis, and should be treated according to the six main symptoms of cough, hemoptysis, hot flashes, night sweats, chest pain, and wasting. Identification of the symptoms of the syndromes: The syndromes of the syndromes are: the vital energy has not failed; the gastric energy has not been injured; there is no shortage of Qi that does not continue; there is no great fever, or low fever is light; there is no phlegm congestion and hemoptysis; the deficiency can be tonic; the pulse comes to the root. All Shun evidence is generally easier to treat. The adverse evidence of consumption is manifested as follows: large flesh decompensated, bone withered and scorched; persistent hot flushes that do not resolve; great injury to the stomach; massive hemoptysis with repeated episodes; short breath that does not continue, moving with profuse sweating and a low voice; deficiency without tonic; floating pulse without root, or fine and number of diseases. All rebellious evidence are more difficult to treat. Third, prohibit dry, bitter cold, open and dispersed, grating prescriptions because of the dry easy to heat, bitter cold easy to dry, grating will consume gas and hurt Yin, so not suitable for the treatment of this disease. Fourth, avoid eating spicy food, eating more sweet food, smoking, etc. This disease occurs because the patient’s resistance is low and the infection of the tubercular worm causes the human body to be deficient in yin and fire. Spicy food (chili, ginger, onion, etc.) is easy to eat to help fire and hurt Yin, aggravating the disease. Fruits and vegetables such as pears, roots, etc., have the effect of nourishing yin and generating fluid, clearing heat and moistening dryness, so you can eat more. The more sugar you eat, the more obvious its inhibition, which will aggravate the condition, but also make the airway mucus increase. Nicotine and other harmful substances in cigarettes can make TB lesions spread and aggravate symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats, in addition to lowering the blood concentration of the anti-TB drug rifampin, which is unfavorable to the treatment of TB. Therefore, patients suffering from tuberculosis should quit smoking. Five, avoid eating fishy food tuberculosis with hemoptysis, yellow fish, scallops, goose, spinach, bamboo shoots, rooster, duck and other hairy things eat less or not, so as not to aggravate the symptoms of hemoptysis.
