Ice-cream can be eaten appropriately after minimally invasive surgery for pituitary tumors, provided that the transition to a normal diet has been made after surgery. Minimally invasive surgery for pituitary tumors is usually performed endoscopically through a transnasal butterfly approach to remove the pituitary tumor. Although minimally invasive, the surgery is also performed under general anesthesia. Therefore, when the patient is awake after the surgery, he/she needs to abstain from food and water for a few hours, and at this time he/she is not allowed to eat ice-cream. If the patient starts to eat a liquid diet after the operation without any obvious discomfort, or even starts to eat normally like before the operation, it is OK to eat ice-cream, but pay attention to the right amount. Avoid triggering acute gastroenteritis symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain during hospitalization. Postoperative diet is recommended to follow the advice of the doctor in charge to avoid unnecessary trouble.
