High blood creatinine in children may be caused by physiological factors such as strenuous exercise, or due to diseases (chronic kidney disease, urinary tract infection, etc.).
1. Physiological factors: for example, strenuous exercise or recent consumption of large amounts of protein foods may lead to high creatinine.
2. Disease factors: such as chronic kidney disease, urinary tract obstruction, or high creatinine due to shock caused by various reasons.
(1) Chronic kidney disease: Because the disease causes the glomerular filtration rate to decrease, creatinine excretion decreases, so there will be high creatinine.
(2) Urinary tract obstruction: when urinary tract obstruction leads to decrease of glomerular filtration rate, thus high creatinine will appear.
(3) Shock caused by many reasons: it will lead to insufficient perfusion of various organs and cause oliguria. Reduced urine output can affect creatinine excretion, and creatinine is high.
There may be other reasons for high creatinine in pediatrics, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
