Can mosquitoes transmit coronavirus

No cases of mosquito-borne neo-coronavirus have been detected. The sources of neocoronaviruses found today are mainly patients infected with neocoronaviruses and asymptomatic infected persons. Mosquitoes are neither sources of neocoronaviruses nor vectors of neocoronaviruses, and therefore do not transmit neocoronaviruses. New coronavirus is mainly transmitted from person to person through droplet transmission and contact transmission, and can also be transmitted through the formation of aerosols or attachment to the surface of objects, which can be touched and inhaled by others. In general, if a mosquito bites a patient with novel coronavirus pneumonia and then bites a normal person, it will not cause transmission because the very low viral load in the mosquito is not enough to cause infection. Note: The terms “new coronavirus pneumonia” and “new coronavirus pneumonia” mentioned in this article were renamed to “new coronavirus infection” on December 26, 2022, as announced by the National Health Commission.
