What happened to the high vaginal pH level?

The normal vaginal pH value is weakly acidic. If there is a high pH value, it is mostly due to trichomoniasis, which is caused by trichomonas infection. Most of the patients can be treated with topical or oral medications such as metronidazole or tinidazole. If there is a slight increase in PH, the vagina has a self-cleaning effect and no treatment is needed.
