Normal range of basal metabolic rate

Basal metabolic rate can be measured by pulse rate and pulse pressure, and it is normal for the calculated values to fluctuate within a range of no more than 15% above or below normal. Measurement of basal metabolic rate needs to exclude factors such as muscle activity, emotional effects, and dietary influences. It is usually measured early in the morning, with the room temperature maintained at around 20°C. Pulse rate and blood pressure are measured when the body is awake, quiet, and has not eaten, and the basal metabolic rate is then extrapolated. (Pulse rate + pulse pressure) – 111 is the basal metabolic rate, pulse rate is the frequency of one minute pulse beat, and pulse pressure is the difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure. It is normal for the basal metabolic rate of a normal person to fluctuate within the range of -15% to +15% of the above calculated value. If the basal metabolic rate is too high or too low, it is considered abnormal and prompt medical examination is recommended.
