Whether or not lung function can be restored after a child grows up with pneumonia depends on the severity of the disease. The disease is relatively mild, the lung function can be recovered after the inflammation completely subsides; the disease is more serious or special pathogen infection, then part of the function can not be completely recovered. 1. Recoverable: Pneumonia is mostly related to infection, through standardized anti-infection treatment, the physical condition is fully recovered, and there is no residual lesion in the lungs, the lung function can be recovered. 2. Irrecoverable: Severe infection in the lungs or some special pathogen infections, such as adenovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, mycoplasma infection, may cause irreversible damage to the lung tissue structure, such as lung atelectasis or lung solid changes. In this case, lung function will be affected, and the surrounding tissues can compensate for part of the function, but lung function cannot be fully restored. Clinically, when children develop pneumonia, they should be admitted to the hospital in a timely manner for medical examination and standardized treatment after diagnosis of the disease, so as to avoid irreversible damage caused by delay.
