High platelets are not diagnostic of leukemia.
1. If leukemia exists, platelets may be high, such as chronic granulocytic leukemia; there may also be low platelets, such as acute leukemia. Therefore, routine blood test suggests that high platelet is not a basis for judging leukemia, and should be used in conjunction with professional doctors to do coagulation function test, liver and spleen ultrasound, bone marrow aspiration test, etc. to exclude the possibility of leukemia.
2. In addition, high platelets may be caused by other diseases, such as myeloproliferative diseases, chronic inflammatory diseases, recovery from acute infections, massive blood loss, iron-deficiency anemia, and some neoplastic diseases.
If high platelet is found in blood test, there is no need to be overly alarmed, it is not necessarily leukemia, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital as soon as possible to complete the systematic examination, and the professional doctor will carry out a comprehensive evaluation and analysis to make a clear diagnosis.
