You can sleep on your side after you wake up from general anesthesia after laparoscopic cholecystectomy; you can sleep on your side a little later for open surgery. If the cholecystectomy is done by laparoscopic cholecystectomy, you can sleep directly on your side after waking up from general anesthesia. However, in the case of open surgery, side-lying time will be delayed due to abdominal pain and other factors, and it may take 2 to 3 days before the patient can sleep on his/her side. However, patients are encouraged to move around early in bed to promote the recovery of bowel function. After cholecystectomy, the recovery of the wound should be observed regularly, and if the pain is severe or there are bleeding symptoms in the wound, timely consultation should be made.
