Surgery for spinal deformities depends on the condition and the age of the patient to determine the different surgical treatments. If the patient is young and has a congenital hemivertebral deformity, the hemivertebral body needs to be surgically removed and the upper and lower segments fixed. In the case of early-onset spinal deformities that present at the age of five to six years, surgical traction of the spine is required. In the case of idiopathic spinal deformity in adolescence, surgery for internal fixation is usually the method of choice. Other causes of spinal deformity, such as equine square syndrome, are also considered, and posterior fixation of corrective fusion may be used as the surgical method. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital for examination, listen to the doctor’s arrangement, and choose a suitable surgical treatment method to avoid more serious consequences due to wrong treatment.
