Hysteroscopy is performed in a normal state without anesthesia, but for special patients it is still necessary to perform the examination under anesthesia. A normal uterine cavity, such as no scarring of the cervix, normal uterine curvature, no severe uterine adhesions, and a patient in good mental state with no particular fear, can be examined by hysteroscopy without anesthesia by selecting the appropriate lens. Patients in this state have no special discomfort and only a little slight distension and pain. When a woman’s uterus shrinks significantly after menopause, some women have undergone cervical surgery, forming a more obvious scar, the opening of the uterus is difficult to expand, the uterus is very curved, and some of the uteruses are combined with serious deformities or serious adhesions, hysteroscopy in the above state needs to be performed under anesthesia to prevent uterine perforation and patient discomfort.
