Do you need to review stomach ulcers?

Gastric ulcers need to be reviewed at the end of the treatment. After 2 months of medication according to the course of treatment, it is necessary to review the electronic gastroscopy to ensure that the ulcer is completely healed, and if necessary, the duration of medication needs to be extended appropriately. In the case of gastric ulcers caused by H. pylori infection, a repeat carbon 13 or 14 breath test is also required to see if the H. pylori is completely eradicated and, if necessary, a second HP eradication regimen is required. Gastric ulcers that are not reviewed regularly after treatment may lead to reoccurrence and worsening of the ulcer or recurrent episodes because the ulcer is not completely cured. If the patient is not compliant, does not pay enough attention or does not follow the doctor’s prescription for the full course of medication, it may lead to complications of the ulcer.
