Heart stent surgery itself usually does not cause accelerated heart rate. Heart rate of more than 100 times/minute after implantation of stent is generally considered to be related to physiological and pathologic factors, and pathologic factors are commonly seen in arrhythmia, hyperthyroidism, and so on.
1. Physiological: emotional excitement, exercise, smoking, drinking, strong tea and other physiological factors may lead to a high heart rate of more than 100 times/minute, but most of them can return to normal after removing the triggering factors.
2. Pathological: general cardiac stent implantation itself does not cause tachycardia, if the patient has paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias, there may be panic, chest tightness and other symptoms, the heart rate of >100 beats / min. In addition, patients with hyperthyroidism may also have a heart rate of >100 beats/minute due to the increased metabolic rate of the body.
If a patient has a heart rate of more than 100 beats/min after having a cardiac stent surgery, it is recommended to go to the cardiology department of the hospital in a timely manner to find out the cause and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
