What is the maximum depth of a woman’s vagina in centimeters?

The deepest part of a woman’s vagina is 7 to 10 centimeters, which is the length of the back wall of the vagina.
The vagina is the female organ of sexual intercourse and the passageway for the discharge of menstrual blood and the delivery of the fetus. Located in the lower center of the true pelvis, the vagina is a tube that is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, and can be divided into an anterior and posterior wall, with the front and back walls being of different lengths. The anterior wall of the vagina is 6 to 8 centimeters long and is adjacent to the bladder and urethra. The posterior wall of the vagina is 7 to 10 centimeters long and is close to the rectum.
When a woman has pelvic organ prolapse, the length of the vagina is significantly shortened. In mild first degree uterine prolapse, the cervix is less than 4 centimeters from the hymenal margin. In case of severe first degree uterine prolapse, the cervix reaches the hymen. In moderate or severe uterine prolapse, the cervix and part or all of the uterus can prolapse outside of the vagina during times of increased abdominal pressure.
