Should all patients have eye massage after glaucoma surgery?

Massage of the eye is required whenever an external filtration channel surgery such as trabeculectomy is done, other surgeries are not required. In the early stage, the surgeon helps to do the massage. After the external filtration channel is stabilized, the surgeon will teach the patient to do eye massage. Why do we need to massage the eyeball? It is because trabeculectomy, an external filtration procedure, is to help patients establish a channel for outward drainage of atrial fluid. Atrial fluid must continue to flow from the external drainage channel so that the channel does not slowly heal and become blocked, and massage is needed to enhance the flow of atrial fluid and prevent the channel from healing.
