What should I pay attention to after tooth extraction?

Although tooth extraction is a minor surgery, it can also cause serious consequences if care is not taken to protect the incision after extraction. After the extraction of diseased teeth, the following points should be noted: 1. After the extraction of bad teeth, place a gauze roll on the extraction socket and bite it to stop the bleeding with pressure, and spit out the gauze roll after half an hour. At this time, there is a clot in the wound and no longer bleeding. If the gauze roll is not spit out and continues to be pressed on the wound for 2-3 days, it may cause wound infection. 2. Do not rinse your mouth on the day of tooth extraction and do not lick your tongue or pull out the wound with your hands to avoid damaging the clot and bleeding again, which will stimulate the wound and affect the healing. 3. It is normal to have light red blood in the saliva spit out within 24 hours after tooth extraction. Do not suck and spit out the saliva repeatedly so as not to cause the wound to bleed again due to the negative pressure in the mouth. 4. Do not eat food that is too hot on the day after tooth extraction to avoid stimulating the wound. 5. The facial area has many blood vessels, rich blood circulation and strong ability to resist infection, so it is generally not necessary to take anti-inflammatory drugs or painkillers after tooth extraction, and it does not affect work. If the tooth with inflammation is extracted or the extraction wound is large, antibacterial drugs and painkillers should be taken appropriately and rest should be taken to ensure that the wound heals as soon as possible. A few patients may also have complications after tooth extraction due to certain reasons, such as bleeding and infection after tooth extraction. If the wound continues to bleed for several hours after tooth extraction or bleeds again after several days, you should go to the hospital for timely treatment.
