Different tongue colors represent the deficiency of the internal organs, the strength and weakness of the blood and qi, and the depth of the external evil. Tongue color generally refers to the color of the tongue, normally light red, common clinical pathology tongue color: pale white tongue, red tongue, red tongue, purple tongue, etc.. Pale red tongue can be seen as reddish and moist, representing the health of the human body, or external symptoms (mainly manifested as respiratory symptoms after feeling external evils), or a mild condition. A reddish tongue with moss belongs to heat entering the camp and blood (the degree of heat invading the body is deep and the symptoms are more serious), while a reddish tongue with little moss belongs to the exuberance of deficiency fire. Greenish-purple tongue, which can be seen as light purple or dark red, represents stagnation of qi and blood. A blue-purple tongue represents generalized blood stagnation, a purple spot on the tongue represents stagnation of blood in the local area, a blue-purple tongue in a light red color represents congestion of lung qi, or blood stasis due to liver depression, or inability to push the blood due to qi deficiency, a pale purple tongue represents the prevalence of yin and cold within the body, or yang qi deficiency, and a purplish-red tongue, a red-red tongue, or a purple-red tongue represents the prevalence of heat and toxins (the body’s fire evils are overly vigorous), and the blood and fluids have been damaged.
