What should I do if my wisdom teeth swell up on the second day of extraction?

Swelling the day after wisdom tooth extraction is a very common reaction after wisdom tooth extraction. For facial swelling and pain caused by wisdom tooth extraction, first of all, avoid chewing food by using the extraction side, and eat light, warm and soft food in the diet, such as thin rice, noodles and porridge. Secondly, do not brush and rinse hard, but use mouthwash with anti-inflammatory function, such as rinse with tinidazole, to reduce the number of pathogenic factors in the mouth to prevent infection of the extraction wound. Then, the redness and pain of the face can be relieved by applying a local cold compress, which can be applied to the cheek on the corresponding side with a medical ice pack or chilled mineral water bottle for about 20 minutes to relieve the pain and swelling, while oral anti-inflammatory drugs are needed for anti-inflammatory treatment, such as cephalosporin, erythromycin enteric capsules, amoxicillin dispersible tablets and metronidazole tablets to reduce inflammation. The redness, swelling and pain will gradually disappear after the above treatment.
