Holding urine in early pregnancy has a relatively small effect on the fetus. The fetus occupies a smaller part of the uterus in early pregnancy, holding urine is in the urinary system and the fetus is in the uterus, i.e., the reproductive system, and there is a clear spacing and barrier between the two systems, so the effect on the fetus is less. Holding urine is not good for the overall health of the patient, no matter at what period of pregnancy. Holding urine in early pregnancy may increase the risk of infection in the urinary system of the pregnant woman, and when the urinary system is infected, localized inflammation and subsequent medication may likewise have adverse indirect effects on the fetus.
