Codonopsis pilosula is sweet and flat, enters the spleen and lung meridians, tonifying the spleen and lungs (tonifying the spleen and lungs), nourishing the blood and generating fluids, and treating deficiency of qi and blood, deficiency of the lungs, spleen and qi, and injury of qi and fluids. It is not suitable for those with solid or hot symptoms but not deficiency of positive qi, and should not be used together with veratrum. 3. Ophiopogon is sweet, slightly bitter, slightly cold, and enters the heart, lung and stomach meridians. It nourishes yin and promotes the production of body fluid, moistens the lung and clears the heart. It also has the function of nourishing yin, moistening the intestines and laxative, and can also treat the intestinal dryness and constipation of heat illness and yin injury. 4. American ginseng is sweet, slightly bitter and cool, enters the heart, lung and kidney meridians, nourishes qi and yin, clears heat and generates fluids. It is contraindicated in all cases of yang deficiency, cold and dampness obstruction, and gas depression and fire, etc. It is also contraindicated in cases of fire depression.
