A throbbing pain in the ear may be caused by diseases such as boils on the external auditory canal, acute suppurative otitis media and malignant tumors of the external auditory canal. 1. External auditory canal boil: it is mainly an acute purulent disease caused by bacterial infection in the deep part of a single hair follicle and its surrounding tissues. Initially, there are small hard nodules with redness, swelling and pain in the local skin, and it can be persistent pain or throbbing pain. 2.
