Can you drink honey with reflux esophagitis?

Honey water is not recommended for reflux esophagitis.
Honey water contains sugar, which may lead to excessive secretion of gastric acid, thus aggravating the symptoms of reflux and heartburn, and is not conducive to mucosal healing.
Reflux esophagitis is a common chronic digestive disease, which is mainly caused by the material in the stomach and/or duodenum, which crosses the esophageal sphincter and refluxes into the esophagus. Due to the presence of corrosive acids, bile acids and pepsin in the gastric contents, the esophageal mucosa will be damaged, which will lead to reflux esophagitis.
Patients need to pay attention to lifestyle adjustment, healthy diet, regular work and rest, abstain from smoking and alcohol, etc., which can improve the symptoms. Those with serious condition can be treated with medication, including acid suppressants, pro-dynamic drugs, digestive aids, etc., such as omeprazole, mosapride, mitragynine pancreatic enzyme tablets, and so on.
If there is any discomfort, patients are advised to take regular medication under the guidance of a doctor, and not to use medication on their own to avoid adverse consequences.
