High white blood cells, or leukocytes, may be related to physiological causes such as high temperature and after strenuous exercise, or to acute infections, tissue loss, malignant tumors, blood diseases and other causes.
1. Physiological causes: when a person is in an environment such as high temperature or cold, or after strenuous exercise or a full meal, it can cause a transient increase in white blood cells.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Acute infection: especially bacterial infection, such as staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus, etc., which can lead to the elevation of leukocytes in the organism.
(2) Tissue injury: when the body is severely traumatized, major surgery or poisoning, it can cause leukocyte elevation.
(3) Malignant tumors: such as stomach cancer, liver cancer and other tumors, which can cause leukocyte elevation.
(4) Blood diseases: such as chronic granulocytic leukemia and acute leukemia, which lead to abnormal bone marrow proliferation and elevated white blood cells.
When white blood cells are elevated, the cause should be clarified under the guidance of doctors and actively treated.
