Zoledronic acid for injection is used for the treatment of metaplastic osteitis and for the treatment of osteoporosis in menopausal women. Precautions: I. Zoledronic acid or other bisphosphonates or the components of this product are contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity, pregnant and lactating women, patients with renal metastases with severe renal insufficiency, patients with low calcium and blood calcium. Second, use with caution in patients with renal insufficiency, those with a history of hypothyroidism, those with aspirin-sensitive asthma, or children. Third, plasma creatinine levels must be measured prior to initiating treatment with this product, and appropriate hydration must be administered prior to dosing, especially important in elderly patients and those receiving diuretics.
